Deb Gioia Art
As a self-taught sculptor and painter, Gioia combines color and style to create whimsy. All of her works of art are a result of utilizing the ordinary in a unique manner that encourages the viewer to consider a different point of view.
Gioia (pronounced Joy-a) combines various metals and stained glass to create whimsical sculptural designs. Copper, steel, and brass form the basic structures, while colorful wire, repurposed items, and found objects enhance the design. Glass constantly evolves throughout the day as the light reflects through it. This clever use of materials draws the observer in to look beyond the obvious. She describes her art as “whimsical expressions of color and energy”.

Gioia Gewels is Gioia’s most recent artistic endeavor. Each is a unique work of art. Just as with her full-sized sculptures, Gioia combines metal as the foundation, and utilizes stained or fused glass, repurposed items, and vintage jewelry to enhance the design. They are created as wearable, miniature sculptures.
